In 2020, Iskul launched a garden program by planting okra, chilli, onion, lemongrass and many other types of plants. The garden aims to give exposure and education about agriculture to Iskul students and the island community. It also seeks to reduce the population’s dependence on marine products.
Next we focused on trying out which fruits and vegetables are suitable to plant for the community on the sea. Many things need to be considered like space, water sources, seeds and types of trees, rat infestations and others.
